YSRCP official spokesperson and former DCCB Vice Chairman Anand Rangareddy demanded that the government take immediate action to support farmers, stating that the Kharif season has begun and farmers in Sri Sathya Sai district are in severe distress. He noted that farmer suicides are occurring daily across the state, and even this district has not been spared.
Speaking at a press meet in Madakasira on Saturday along with YSRCP local leaders, he said that despite severe drought conditions prevailing across the district, the government has failed to declare drought-affected mandals properly and has ignored the injustice in the announcements.
He criticized the government for slashing the distribution of groundnut and other seeds to half of what was distributed in previous years and for setting higher prices, thereby burdening the farmers.
Since the coalition government came to power, not even a single passbook has been issued to farmers, he said. New farmers listed under “1B” records are unable to obtain bank loans, especially those holding government-allotted patta lands, and the government is behaving indifferently towards their plight.
He recalled that during the YSRCP rule, the government paid the crop insurance premium on behalf of farmers, encouraging them. But now, the new government has scrapped that scheme, forcing farmers to bear the burden themselves—likening it to a falling palm tree crushing a howling fox, worsening their already dire situation.
He pointed out that the coalition parties—TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP—made not just “Super Six” promises but nearly 150 assurances during elections, yet are now ignoring them. They had promised to give ₹20,000 per year to each farmer under the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme but are now showing no interest. He demanded that immediate payments be made to farmers, including pending amounts from last year and this year.
He also criticized the previous TDP government for making tall promises of complete loan waivers for farmers but delivering only partial relief. He demanded that pending loan waiver installments be paid along with interest.
He further requested that, just as funds were released for party workers under schemes like Neeru-Chettu, similar pending dues should be released for farmers too.

ప్రస్తుతం ఖరీఫ్ సీజన్ ప్రారంభమైందని శ్రీ సత్య సాయి జిల్లా రైతులు తీవ్ర ఇబ్బందుల్లో ఉన్నారని రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా ప్రతిరోజు రైతు ఆత్మహత్యలు జరుగుతున్నాయని ఈ జిల్లాలో కూడా రైతు ఆత్మహత్యలు సంభవిస్తున్నాయని ప్రభుత్వం వెంటనే రైతు ను ఆదుకొనేందుకు చర్యలు చేపట్టాలని వైఎస్ఆర్సిపి అధికార ప్రతినిధి మాజీ డిసిసి బ్యాంక్ ఉపాధ్యక్షులు ఆనంద రంగా రెడ్డి ప్రభుత్వాన్ని డిమాండ్ చేశారు. ఆయన శనివారం మడకశిర లో వైఎస్ఆర్సిపి చరనాయకుల తో కలిసి విలేకరుల సమావేశంలో మాట్లాడుతూ ప్రభుత్వం జిల్లా వ్యాప్తంగా కరువు తాండవిస్తూ ఉంటే కరువు మండలాలు ప్రకటనలో అన్యాయం జరిగిన పట్టించుకోలేదని అన్నారు. ప్రత సీజన్లో రైతులకు అందించవలసిన వేరుశనగ విత్తనంతో పాటు ఇతర విత్తనల పంపిణీలో గతంలో పంపిణీ చేసిన పరిమాణాని కన్నా సగానికి సగం తగ్గించి, ధర కూడా అధికంగా నిర్ణయించి రైతులకు ఇబ్బందుల గురి చేశారని విమర్శించారు.
కూటమి ప్రభుత్వం వచ్చిన తర్వాత రైతులకు ఒక్క పాసు పుస్తకం కూడా పంపిణీ చేయకపోవడంతో రాష్ట్రంలో కొత్తగా వన్ బి లో పొందిన రైతులు బ్యాంకుల నుండి రుణాలు పొంద లేకపోతున్నారని ముఖ్యంగా ప్రభుత్వమిచ్చిన పట్టా భూముల విషయంలో రైతులు తీవ్ర ఇబ్బందులు పడుతున్నారని ప్రభుత్వం పట్టించుకోకుండా నిమ్మకు నీరెత్తినట్లు వ్యవహరిస్తుందని పేర్కొన్నారు.
వైయస్సార్సీపి ప్రభుత్వంలో పంటల బీమా ప్రీమియం ప్రభుత్వమే చెల్లించి రైతులను ప్రోత్సహించిందని ప్రస్తుతం ప్రభుత్వం ఆ పథకానికి స్వస్తి చెప్పడం తో రైతులే ప్రీమియం చెల్లించవలసి వచ్చిందని మూలిగే నక్కపై తాటి చెట్టు పడినట్లు ఇబ్బందుల్లో ఉన్న రైతులకు పెనుభారంగా పరిణమించిందని అన్నారు. ఎన్నికల్లో ఓట్ల కోసం కూటమి పార్టీలు తెలుగుదేశం జనసేన బిజెపి పార్టీలు ప్రజలకు సూపర్ సిక్స్ లే కాకుండా దాదాపు 150 హామీలు ఇచ్చిందని వాటిని ప్రస్తుతం పట్టించుకోవడంలేదని రైతులకు సంబంధించి అన్నదాత సుఖీభవ పథకం ద్వారా ప్రతి రైతుకు సంవత్సరానికి 20 వేల రూపాయలు ఇస్తామని చెప్పి ఆ విషయం గురించి పట్టించుకోవడంలేదని సంక్షోభంలో ఉన్న రైతుల కోసం వెంటనే గత సంవత్సరం మరియు ఈ సంవత్సరం సంబంధించిన మొత్తాలను కలిపి వెంటనే డబ్బులు రైతులకు ఇవ్వాలని డిమాండ్ చేస్తున్నాం.
గతంలో తెలుగుదేశం ప్రభుత్వం ఉన్నప్పుడు రైతులకు రుణాలన్నీ మాఫీ చేస్తామని చెప్పి అరకొరగా చేశారని, గతంలో రుణమాఫీ విడతల్లో బకాయి ఉన్న మొత్తాలను వడ్డీతో కలిపి రైతులకు విడుదల చేయాలని డిమాండ్ చేశారు. తమ పార్టీ కార్యకర్తల కోసం నీరు చెట్టు తదితర పథకాల్లో బకాయి ఉన్నామని డబ్బులు ఇచ్చిన విధంగా రైతులకు ఇవ్వాలని కోరారు. ఈ సమావేశం రాష్ట్ర వక్కలిగ్ విభాగం అధ్యక్షులు రంగే గౌడ్, జిల్లా ఎస్సీ సెల్ అధ్యక్షులు నరసింహమూర్తి, నియోజకవర్గ యువజన విభాగ అధ్యక్షులు శేషాద్రి, క్రిస్టియన్ మైనారిటీ విభాగ అధ్యక్షులు నరసింహ, బూత్ కమిటీ విభాగ అధ్యక్షులు మల్లికార్జున, విద్యార్థి విభాగం నాయకులు నితిన్ రెడ్డి నాయకులు రంగనాథ్, లక్ష్మీనారాయణ తదితరులు పాల్గొన్నారు.”
